Summer Days .. Fading….

Oh to be a child again. I guess we all can be anytime we want; however, to look at the world through a child’s eyes and be carefree only having to worry about the latest and greatest and having fun, shunning adult responsibilities…. just for a moment.

Summer is still with us, technically, for another 5 weeks, yet with school starting we needed to end the weekend with some fun. Z style……

What a great end to my “all day” freedom!

The Ranch

We love to go the “Ranch”. It is the family home of my husband’s father. It is all about the grandkids when we all go out there.

We don’t have to worry about traffic, being too loud, or watching the kids like hawks now that they are getting older, and a slew of other things. There is always a good meal and plenty to do, not mention time to take a nap (well for some of us – never me ;p)

We did make pillows for the new playhouse, the kids loved the activity and were so excited to see them put together. We didn’t get to all of the activities I had brought because of time. Swimming in the cattle tank was more important, as was wagon rides, swinging, and playing in the playhouse.

I snapped a few photos of our days there.

Typical scenery the entire way out there!

We saw a lot of trains!

Early morning skies

Some of Mimi’s garden

The infamous skulls in the trees- I think they were/are cows

“My swing” as Z likes to call it, even though it is for everyone

“The kid bowl” as it was nicknamed this week – like a dog bowl but for the kids!

Remembering Porter – the beloved, dedicated, ever so loving, black lab who passed this year after 11 years

We still have Chip – he adopted us all

This wagon is almost on its last leg

This bike might be a little too big – Thanks for sharing Campbell!

Cows drink out of here! YUCK!

The pillow project – looks much for neon than they really are. Lots of fun!

Overall, the two days were two well spent! Cannot wait for the next weekend out there!

Its been a LONG while…

I have seriously neglected to do this blog. I think I will set aside some time to do this. In two weeks my son is starting all day Kindergarten!

All Grown Up

I CANNOT believe it! This will give me Mondays to make posts, plus one other day.

Blogging takes a lot of work. I applaud those who have made it a profession and have created some fantastic blogs. I have a HUGE list going of all the blogs I plan to frequent. More than what I have listed already!

Time to get going……….

Still here… just BUSY!

I have been really preoccupied with LIFE!

I am getting ready to participate in my very first show (craft). It is in my in-laws home town of Garden City, KS. It is a Women’s Day Out. I am SUPER excited!

I will be the only vendor selling soaps, lotions, lip balms, solid perfumes, and totes. I have been sewing and making soap, body butters, and lip balms like crazy.  Oh and labels!

I will say repetition is key, I am so much faster at making my totes. Now I need to get the pricing hammered out. Oh and I still need to make three more Market totes for my mother-in-law and do two gifts for my both of my mother-in-laws as their birthdays are within a week of each other and since I will be in KS I should have them done so I can leave them there with them.

I have a funny little post that I will get out this week.

I hope to get back on a better schedule the weekend after next. I will post photos of my little booth. Granted it will be my first one so I will definitely learn a lot.

I am debating on whether or not to get a credit card machine. I am not sure how often I will be out and about doing shows. I would like to do it consistently, the costs are quite high for shows, and there are monthly fees to maintain the machine. At least $34 a month (breaks down to $9 for customer support and minimum of $25 in sales each month).

Any opinions on this? I asked my Etsy group and I am not sure what their response it yet. Have to check it out.

Have a great day!

Getting Back on Track

We finally got our computer back. YAY!

I have a lot to catch up on. Nothing so exciting that it should bring the house down, just a few completed projects, new endeavors, and some of my photos of the day.

I am going to play around with Photoshop a bit and add some interest to the pictures and then start posting them. I do need to catch up on my list, so my son and I will get to it this week and next since it is spring break and I get to leave work early all next week.

This weekend I will hopefully be posting my brains out if not the next two days.

May Day…. May Day

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our hardrive is DEAD. RIP.

I am sure it is my doing. I have no idea. I used it yesterday morning to print out some labels from InDesign for my bath bombs and then left to work and when my husband woke up and went to do his banking, the computer wouldn’t move past the “starting windows” screen.

He restarted it and is said it was downloading a new program or something to that affect and then nothing.

The lovely Geek Squad is to the rescue and overnighted out laptop to “HP Headquarters.”

I know my husband is not happy about this. The computer is only 2 years old. I am the one on there doing Photoshop, InDesign, blogs, and I did install the Cricut programming on Sunday and it worked fine on Monday when I tested it out and I was on the computer the next few days after that.

I feel awful and that fault is solely on my shoulders. I have an EXTREME love/hate relationship with computers.

I hope it feels better soon!

A Good Day!

Whoo hoo! I got on Pinterest. Now I need to figure it all out and start colllecting my ideas/inspirations (I already have 8 boards set up and 38 pins and 8 likes – I don’t mess around!).

A good birthday present for me! Now I don’t have to try to remember where I found some of my ideas it will all be there to reference later.

Today was  a great day. I spent it with my son and my in-laws. They made today a great day. I would have just looked at it as another day.

I also got some great ideas for some more delectable desserts. I will pop over there and post.

Here’s to another year!
